The Ultimate Playlist To Make You Ride More

Air… Check! Brakes… Check! Lube… Check! Music? Ummmm…  Well that used to be me, every time I went out for an impromptu joy ride on my Coppernicus T3!

When I decide to burn some calories, I always prefer the outdoors over spin class or indoor cycling, cause hey! the view is so much better. But irrespective of my choice of scenery, I’ve realized the right music really gets me going.  A good exercise playlist has the power to divert my mind and make me push myself that much harder.  And if you’re like me, you’d agree that workout music is an instant mental booster, setting you into a flow.

That being said, there may be some contrasting opinions about riding with music. And I agree, it can at times be dangerous. I do not compromise on safety, especially on a busy street. So here are a few things I follow while I listen to music on my Coppernicus T3.

Things I keep in mind while riding my electric bicycle with music:

Electric bicycle in India

1. Using a single earplug

If you are using earphones, this is something you can easily adopt. This may take some time to get used to, but it comes in handy during peak hours of traffic where you should be attentive. A single earplug, will enable you to be more aware of your surroundings and not compromising on your lively workout music.

2. Follow the 60/60 rule.

The 60/60 Rule recommends using your earphones not more than 60 minutes at a stretch and at a volume not above 60 decibels (In perspective—humans talk at 45-60 decibels). Using headphones/earphones continuously for long hours can cause more damage than you think. Control over the volume of your music enables you to be conscious of what’s happening around.

3. Portable Bluetooth speakers

These are tiny speakers that can be mounted on your bikes. You can mount them almost anywhere on your bike. They keep your ears free and do a fairly good job of producing some quality sound.

Exercise Playlists to rock your ride

Over the years I built myself a playlist for my rides, and also shortlisted a few playlists from other riders as well. Here is a compilation of songs for my every mood. Do tell me which one you enjoy the most!

Morning Commute

While commuting to work during busy traffic hours, maintaining a particular rhythm might be challenging. Keeping this in mind, this upbeat pop playlist has the perfect songs to ride to while you’re zipping through open streets or can accompany you making your way through traffic.

Bolly Beats

There is absolutely no replacement to Bollywood Music. And whether you’re Indian or not, you are sure to enjoy these beats. They are equally fun to dance, workout or ride to. Definitely recommend it.

Sing along 90s

When I’m in no rush, I love riding and singing along at my own pace on my Coppernicus. There is no better music than the good ol’ 90s for that! It’s my go to playlist after a long day’s work or when I head out for an evening stroll.

Workout Mode

This, like most other workout music is THE one if youre looking hardcore, pumped up EDM music for your cardio cycling workout. The fast paced tempo will keep you motivated

Podcasts

If you are keen on exploring new topics, podcasts are also a great option. They not only give you company on your ride but also teach you something new and interesting. Your “Watch later” YouTube list is also not a bad idea.

What are you waiting for? Hop on your bicycle! If you have your own workout playlists, or any songs to ride to, and would like to share it, do mention it in the comments.
